This length of concrete wall which supports Brunel Way above, has become a bit of as tribute wall for Dorns, who passed away a couple of years ago, but is well remembered here. This particular sloping piece is by Squire.
There is no mistaking Squire’s style, but helpfully he has also signed this tribute piece, although the letters spell out DORNS, rather than his own name. This is a tidy piece, with slightly unruly letters, in terms of size and shape, and the red and blue fill works very nicely. I suspect this piece will be around for a long time.
