Another fine piece of writing from Diced Mango on the entrance to St Werburghs tunnel. This, so I understand, is likely to be one of his last works in Bristol for a while as he is moving away from the city for a while. That is a pity for us, especially as his work has been on such an improving trajectory of late and it has been fun seeing his work develop.

This piece has a rather cold and sugar-sweet/confectionary feel to it. His letter shapes are nice and ‘bouncy’ and the three colour layers are nicely finished off with drips and dots. A decent piece of writing.
Well this is a bit of a departure for Diced Mango whose work I would normally associate with writing the word mango. It is great to see this magnificent political piece appear at a time where it is so important to question the authority of those in power, in fact I don’t think that there has ever been a more important time in my life to protest and challenge.

The timing of this piece coincides with the emergence of Boris Johnson as leader of the Conservative Party and by default, unfortunately, the Prime Minister. As expected, he has surrounded himself with some of the most divisive and toxic politicians of our time to serve on his Cabinet, politicians who represent an extreme version of capitalism which is at odds with any kind of social justice, climate awareness or living within our (planetary) means.
This fine piece by Diced Mango shows a complacent Boris in his button-back throne consuming the earth. The heading ‘Planet before Profit’ is probably a fairly well supported message in a city like Bristol, but one that simply hasn’t penetrated ‘comfortable’ middle England. I love what Diced Mango has done here and am pleased to see him switching it up a bit in terms of his style. Great work.
I guess I have been posting pieces by Diced Mango since the beginning of the year and I can honestly say that I think that this is his best piece yet. On one of the tunnel entrances (the Easton swimming pool side) he has found the perfect spot to show the piece off.

I think that he has absolutely nailed the flames effect and his colour selections work really well. He has really developed his technique in such a short space of time, and it is easy to chart his improvement. I’m looking forward to seeing where it all goes.
Well here we are again with another colourful piece by Diced Mango in St Werburghs tunnel. I said there would be more from him and I am true to my word. The ends of the tunnel are always hard to photograph because of the encroaching bright light from outside which bleaches half of the picture. I hope that you get a good idea of this in any case.

What I really like about Diced Mango is that I think he is relatively new to painting on street walls and his work is getting better with each outing and he seems to be experimenting a lot with letter shapes and colours/patterns. It gives me great inspiration and I hope to be doing this kind of thing in a year or two.
Diced Mango is an artist reasonably new to me, having only been aware of his street pieces for about six months or so. He has become rather busy lately and his letters are appearing in various spots around the city.

This piece, from January this year was in St Werburghs tunnel and shows how the artist plays with shapes and shadings to make the letters look like they are twisted a little. Clever stuff and it gives me ideas for things that I can try out at home. Several more to come from Diced Mango soon.
I cannot think of a period in the four or so years that I have been writing about Bristol street art where there have been so many ‘new’ entrants into the painting scene. One such artist is Diced Mango who once on my radar only a few months ago is now producing pieces on a regular basis in several spots around the city.

This recent piece in St Werburghs tunnel combines a character with writing, a format common amongst graffiti writers. The portrait is naively drawn with Diced Mango’s trademark coloured ‘string’ hair.

The writing in gold is in a rather nice organic form. I think there is a lot more to come from this artist and I am looking forward to seeing how his work develops over the coming months and years.
In this game it is sometimes hard to work out whether artists are new to the scene or whether you have simply not seen any of their work before. Diced Mango very much fits into this category for me.

I only became aware of the artist a few weeks ago, and posted his piece in Dean Lane, and now, so soon afterwards, I found another one, this time in the M32 Spot. It is another portrait, painted in a rather naive style and with the bright colours that seem to be a feature of his work. I am looking forward to following the progress of Diced Mango and finding out a little bit more about the artist.
I get a great thrill when I see work from an artist new to me, and this piece from Diced Mango in Dean Lane came as a most welcome surprise. This work reminds me a little of the work of Pekoe, simply because it has some commonalities of bright colours, a female face and ‘scribbled’ hair.

I have since seen more work from Diced Mango and I think that this might be a thing…I hope so. The artist is Alexander Richardson A.K.A. Alex the Maverick of Maverick Media. It is great to see real people with real jobs doing real street art/graffiti art, always striving to brighten the place up. A nice first piece by this artist for Natural Adventures.
