It seems that WordPress have been messing about with their settings again, and trying to find the ‘Classic Editor’ has been tricky this morning, but here I am… This is a rather nice piece by occasional artist Mysto, who it has to be said is becoming rather less occasional than he used to be.

The lovely letters appear as if hewn from a gold bar, although it is actually painted in yellows and browns, a clever illusion. Some tidy white highlights and starbursts, combined with a stripy drop shadow bring depth to the letters. The blue background is rather striking and complements the piece nicely.

 

 

I don’t see many pieces by Mysto and therefore conclude that the artist is not from these parts and visits from time to time or simply doesn’t paint often, which is quite unusual for a graffiti artist. One thing though is that Mysto’s writing style is quite easy to identify.

This is a fine piece on the River Avon footpath in which the letters MYSTO have been expertly filled with a blended sequence of purples and violets with some bubbles reversed out throughout. The ‘mulshed’ white wall helps the piece to stand out, and a blue design around the letters finishes the piece off nicely.
