This is a really terrible picture of a quickie from Decay on the left and trademark ‘SEISMIC’ from Jee See on the right. It is always geat to see work from both of these two artists, whose work is stylistically quite different. I am really enjoying these small character type pieced from Decay at the moment.

This board in The Bearpit has since been prepped and replaced with new work sprayed during a paint jam on 14 April 2018 – more on this to follow.

I didn’t get to finish this as the Police turned up on horseback and confronted me. They asked if I had permission to which I politely replied I did. From the PRSC who apparently own the bear pit boards. They said they would check this. They returned and said that I couldn’t carry on painting and then said “only joking, you can carry on”. So I did. About half an hour later they returned and said that, in fact, I wasn’t allowed to paint on the boards according to the council. They then asked for my details or face arrest for criminal damage. That is the last time I paint in the bearpit until this farce is sorted out. What a joke. Thankyou for your continued support scooj. And for the record I’m a law abiding tax paying citizen. I was a teacher for 20 years which included being Head of Art for 7 years in a school for Dyslexics. I am now a care worker.

Thank you so much for the enlightening back story. This whole thing is a mess and has such potential for backfiring massively. With fewer walls in the area I’m not sure where this is all going to end up. Graffitigeddon!
