I am Stephen. I live in Bristol, UK. I decided to shorten my profile...to this: Wildlife, haiku, travel, streetart, psychogeography and my family. Not necessarily in that order.

Compassion and partnership are not in their vocabulary. But greed, power over others, selfishness, blindness, hate, violence, and death, are their common language.
The machine in the USA is too big. They have all the weapons and aren’t afraid to use them. The way we did things before don’t work now. It’s 1984 and Big Brother is a live and well. It gets worse with technology and tracking people and every detail of their lives. Drones the size of tiny insects. No privacy and violence rules. Kids aren’t being educated properly and everyone is being distracted and conditioned to look at themselves and take pictures of their own faces. It’s insane. I’d like to believe you’re right but I don’t see it happening here. We were political in the 60s and kids on campus were shot and killed, wounded and the Chicago convention had cops beating people at will. The idiot in charge is completely insane. I’m actually amazed that we aren’t in a civil war. Country is divided in half and no conversations can be held because the divide is so deep. No one seems to be able to do anything. At least not yet. We live in a rich white male hate zone. Seriously. That’s what this country is, who it’s for.
While I share your horror at what is going on, I do have an optimism that young people, who are amazing by the way, will come through all of this and bring about a more consensus-based politics. It may take time, but it will come.
Sadly seems worldwide.

I agree. Time for a change, and I believe our youngsters will deliver it.
