If you look hard enough around the city of Bristol, you will find the words Nice One on buildings, on motorway underpasses and around unexpected corners. The artist gets himself pretty much everywhere. His letters are often accompanied by a character of landscape, but here in Purdown it is just Nice One’s letters.

This is a clever piece Which is painted on walls that protrude from the perimeter to different amounts and can only be accurate when viewed fromdirectly in front. If viewed from the side, you can see that the writing is at two depths. Nice One woulkd have had to compensate for this, making the further away letters larger. A skilled study in perspective and depth from Nice One.
It’s been a long time since I was able to get up there.
Hopefully before the year is out I will manage it . . .

Turnover up there has been very slow, you’ve not/missed much. I hope your recovery progresses well. Been an age since I last saw you… May briefly.

It’s been really difficult mate.
My time waiting for the surgery was incredibly hard as the pain got worse and worse and my movement became more and more limited.
Having the surgery was of course a blessing although things haven’t been plain sailing since. I have had very bad allergic reactions to the dissolvable stitches which has felt like having scalding water poured directly onto a massive wound. That’s then got infected so antibiotics have been needed.
Being both patient and carer is a tough gig but I am upright and above ground and I have hope that things will start getting better soon.
In the meantime it brings me happiness to know you’re enjoying some late summer sun over in Greece . . .
