Well, here’s one for the cat lovers. I really don’t like posting street art without knowing a little bit about the artist, but in this instance I simply cannot resist sharing this piece as quickly as I can.

I spotted the glorious cat when driving my wife to the station this morning, and I guess it must have appeared sometime yesterday. It is fresh, striking, clean and catty. The artist is Dose? about whom I know absolutely nothing and am struggling to track him down on the Interweb. I have seen a couple of images on Instagram of the piece being painted, but there is no accompanying information about Dose.

There is something about cats and street art, like bananas and chocolate. This cat would be welcome in any alley. Glad to have photographed it in its full glory as I expect the taggers will be all over it by tomorrow. A wonderful wonderful piece. I expect to update this post as I find out more.

Another lovely piece from the extraordinary outdoor gallery, AKA Devon Road. This cat in a deckchair is by one of the godfathers of Bristol street art – Rowdy, and contains all his hallmarks, as you can see from looking at this previous post.

I think that there is at least one other artist involved in this piece, but somewhat disconnected from our feline friend. I am not sure who the artist is.

There is something wonderfully laid back and ‘Bristol’ about the work of Rowdy. Highly accomplished, distinctive, relaxed and mildly anarchic – great stuff.

I have seen a lot of work by DNT is Bristol, but I have been trying to dig out information about him before featuring any of his work. It has been difficult. Then I stumbled on this lovely YouTube clip which presents DNT as he is, and offers a short biography in his own words.

This small piece in Moon Street is relatively recent and rather unusual. It sits yards away from a 3Dom piece featured here a little while ago. The cat wins me over, even if it does have three eyes…after all, I have a cat with 26 fingers/claws.

On a wall opposite the Phlegm mural, previously featured, is a beautiful stencil of a tabby cat.

The cat, by Beastie, an artist from Gloucester, has left its blue paw prints behind. This is a lovely and somewhat understated work.
Beastie has been nicknamed the Banksy of Gloucester by the local media, and he would appear to be both prolific and popular.
