This is yet another classy piece from the Minto birthday paint jam in St Werburghs tunnel, and I am not even half way through posting these yet. The artist this time is 3Dom with some signature graffiti writing. The photographs are rather poor and the colour quality rather different from the two angles. I think I have a setting wrong on my phone. Maybe it is time for an upgrade…

The letters spell out his name, but what makes this so recognisable as a piece by him is the way the letters are filled with ‘organic’ shapes and patterns and the rows of spots and dots. 3Dom is equally talented at graffiti writing and his extraordinary surreal character pieces, an all round superstar really.

Another fabulous piece from the ‘high-end’ paint jam honouring Ulow’s birthday a little while back. This one is by Rusk, a graffiti writer whose work I love, but who has been rather quiet over the last couple of years. I expect he is bus6 in other areas of his life, but he still has the skill and patience to turnout superb pieces like this one.

The letters spell out Ulow, and are set on the grey-blue buffed wall, which was the same for all of the artists. This is a very special and technically brilliant piece in which the letters appear to be like a hollow framework, into which the colours have been ‘poured’. The two halves in different colours have been separated by a black horizon line, making a landscape effect. Shading on the letter edges provides depth. What an outstanding piece of graffiti writing. Bravo!

Kool Hand, St Werburghs, Bristol, June 2025
Kool Hand, St Werburghs, Bristol, June 2025

Kool Hand has been having a great 2025 so far, producing numerous characters and writing pieces all over the place, each contributing to a noticeable and steady improvement over time. This is a lovely piece that was painted in the tunnel as part of Wispa’s birthday paint jam.

This KOOL writing is very well produced, although in my least favourite range of colours. He is experimenting with some interesting fill pattern, which all look rather nice, and his fat white highlights work quite well to give the letters some depth. This is a nice piece to add to Kool Hand’s ever-expanding portfolio.

Rozda, Cumberland Basin, Bristol, April 2025

I love this kind of slightly unconventional, not quite anti-style, unconventional graffiti writing, which, although it looks a bit scruffy is actually technically really well thought out, designed and pulled together.

Rozda, Cumberland Basin, Bristol, April 2025
Rozda, Cumberland Basin, Bristol, April 2025

It was painted as part of a large collaboration, with each piece sharing a common background and base colours, but each with its own unique style. I know nothing of Rozda, the artist, so would guess that they were in Bristol as a visitor for this paint jam. I like this a lot.

Conrico, Cumberland Basin, Bristol, March 2025
Conrico, Cumberland Basin, Bristol, March 2025

Conrico has a lightness of touch and an ability to tell stories through his pieces that is almost unique in Bristol. If I were to pick another artist who has similar qualities, it would be Daz Cat. This is a wonderful piece was painted as part of a paint jam I think to mark the birthday of Benry – I don’t know who Benry is, but there was some great art produced in celebration.

The piece features a girl riding a white tiger (or some mythical feline beast), and why not, and the orange atmosphere around the characters indicates something magical is going on. There is movement, excitement and fantasy in this piece which is beautifully painted by Conrico. Great stuff.

Noise, M32 roundabout, Bristol, February 2025
Noise, M32 roundabout, Bristol, February 2025

I’m not quite sure what links there are in this piece by Noise to the World Wall Stylers’ theme of Space Jam, but it was painted alongside Zake who recreated some characters from the film, and this piece reflects the colour scheme adopted.

Noise, M32 roundabout, Bristol, February 2025

Noise has a very distinctive style and usually presents chunky letters spelling out his name. In this piece, the letters are a little skinnier than usual, but unmistakably in his style. The colour selection for this paint jam, isn’t particularly helpful, with everything being a little bit dark and quite ‘heavy’ is that makes sense. A curious interpretation of the theme.

Evey, M32 roundabout, Bristol, June 2024
Evey, M32 roundabout, Bristol, June 2024

Hurrah, for this cheeky piece of graffiti writing by Evey created during a paint jam organised by RBF (Resting Bitch face Crew) for Wispa’s birthday. Regular observers of Natural Adventures will note that this is not the first time Evey has used this idea, and given its popularity, she has created it again.

The saucy letters – EVEN – contain a bottom and fishnet stockings to make up the ‘V’. The whole thing is full of fun, which some characterisation of both of the ‘Es’ thrown into the mix. A spiky orange surround and ‘confetti’ round off this party piece. Great wok from Evey.

Bnie, M32 roundabout, Bristol, June 2024

This wonderful piece by Bnie was painted during an interesting paint jam honouring Wispa’s birthday, even though she wasn’t present. That’s what friends are for. The theme for the paint jam was sweets and confections, I guess because Wispa is fond of such things.

Bnie, M32 roundabout, Bristol, June 2024
Bnie, M32 roundabout, Bristol, June 2024

Bnie has gone to town with this amazing representation of a Yorkie bar, chocolate I haven’t eaten for more than twenty years, in which she has replaced the word Yorkie with her letters BNIE, in the correct brand style. I love this kind of piece, because it stretches the artist to step outside their comfort zone, and Bnie has done a cracking job with this one. The full RBF wall is shown in the photograph below:

Inkie, St Werburghs, Bristol, September 2023
Inkie, St Werburghs, Bristol, September 2023

Today is the first day of a short break in Cornwall, and my focus is on dusting off my fishing gear and preparing myself for a day outdoors in the fresh air. Of course, my routine is likely to be a little disrupted, and my posts might get a little erratic as the week wears on, but that is fine. Today’s post features a fabulous piece by Inkie in the tunnel, from a paint jam at the end of August.

Inkie, St Werburghs, Bristol, September 2023
Inkie, St Werburghs, Bristol, September 2023

I am spoilt. There was a time when I used to get super-excited when I found work by Inkie, whose reputation precedes him, but these days I am fairly nonchalant about it, and even the presence of Goldie in this work in progress shot seem quite normal. Perhaps I have been doing this too long and am losing my edge.

Inkie, St Werburghs, Bristol, September 2023
Inkie, St Werburghs, Bristol, September 2023

The piece by Inkie is out of the top drawer, and I guess that in a paint jam of this calibre, everyone is under a little pressure to turn out their best work. Beautiful letters, outstanding fills and a sumptuous 3D drop shadow combine perfectly to render an archetypal Inkie piece. We are blessed.

Vozie, St Werburghs, Bristol, November 2022
Vozie, St Werburghs, Bristol, November 2022

I was rather late to the party regarding Vozie, which is embarrassing at best, but better late than never. I might have to trawl through some archives to see if I have overlooked any of her pieces from before my ‘awakening’ at Upfest this year. What is clear is that Vozie is a massively talented and accomplished writer whose work is both beautiful and compelling.

This one in the tunnel, painted as part of Bnie’s birthday paint jam, is an absolute banger. Painted in the paint jam colours, the letters VOZIE are sensationally filled with fabulous transitions between the colours and delicious accent lines and patterns on the edges of the letters. Fast becoming a fave.
