Treasure

.

Shedding leaves of gold

a silver birch undresses

Autumnal treasure.

Beginning

Glorious morning

cold fresh air, endless blue skies

seasons marching on.

by Scooj

Winter lingers

Reset the fireplace

mothballed until next winter

snow and ice return.

Invasion

Winter sails

closer to our shores

glancing blows

so bitter;

there is nothing we can do

but sit tight and wait.

by Scooj

Autumn

A new month begins

bringing with it a season

colourful and cold.

by Scooj

Segue

Magnolia blooms

have all but gone; early Spring

beckons to Summer.

by Scooj

Sun

This beautiful land

so much enhanced by the hand

of Sulis; Spring freed.

Transition

Delicate whisper

of Autumn’s steady advance

time to button up.

One of my early haiku which I still rather like. I am mindful of it as we transition from Winter into Spring. First published on 5 September 2015.

Haiku 3

Deathly cold darkness

adorns Autumn’s fallen leaves

with Winter’s halo

Season scene

.

From the train window

yellow-grey skies hint at the

darkening Autumn.
