3247. Brunel Way bridge (63)

There are two graffiti writers that I am really enjoying seeing at the moment and they are Phour and Pl8o, both emerging as great writing talents to add to the long list in the city. This is a recent piece by Pl80 on the long wall facing the river.

Pink is a colour that seems to be coming back into fashion and as with other pink pieces about the place it works very nicely indeed with blue. The 3D shadow is nicely done and the red details and yellow stars work very nicely in this piece. Probably Pl8o’s greatest asset though is the shape of the letter/number combination he uses it is very pleasing to the eye and full of lovely curves.

1475. Hepburn Road (7)

Rezwonk has been a bit of a busy man recently, especially in the Stokes Croft area. This burner at the top end of Hepburn Road is a humorous tribute to Fab ice lollies, spelling out Rezer (Rezwonk). His work is undeniably classy and this has something special about it.

I have not seen any burners from Rezwonk before this one, but he uses writing an awful lot in his pieces, and it would seem that letters and writing are central to his work. Over the past few months Hepburn Road has become noticeably less threatening as the police and local authority clamped down on the drug dealing that used to plague this area. This spot is a favourite of DNT’s and I expect Rezwonks piece to be replaced before too long.

936. Raleigh Road, Vector (14)

There is rarely a Voyder piece that I look at and think…that’s not much good. In fact I can think only of one, and I am not going to share which one here. This is another stunning piece from a little while before Upfest 2017, when Boogie was in town, whose piece can be seen just to the right of this picture (to follow).

This time Voyder has gone for a copper coloured design which carries a really nice 3D quality about it emphasised by the white shading and stars. Appearing to lie behind the writing is a rainbow, interestingly in reverse order from convention, which would normally start with red on the left.
