It’s ok to not be ok is the message at the bottom left hand side of this superb piece by Sepr. I don’t think it is his message, but I like it that he has left it there. I haven’t seen much about this piece on Instagram, but maybe I’m just not looking in the right places.

Sepr has injected a lot of humour into this fox and hound duo making music together on a guitar and banjo. The whole piece has a feel of southern states of America, out on the porch kind of thing. These guys seem to be enjoying themselves, and the bottle of spirits rounds off the piece beautifully.

Sepr’s technique is instantly recognisable, and I love his two-tone pieces set on a coloured background. Sepr is a bit of a polymath, his street art is complemented by his tattooing and his bands Olanza and Fuk for which he is the drummer. Music certainly crosses over with his art, and many of his pieces I have written about on this blog feature characters with musical instruments.

Sepr always leaves me wanting more.

1046. M32 Spot (10)

Well this is an absolute cracker from Deamze on the wall in Stapleton Road at the M32 Spot. Really sharp work in monochrome against a yellow backdrop. I can honestly say that this is one of my favourites from this Bristol master.

This bit of wall has only recently been properly taken up by steet artists, where before it was just a few untidy tags. It has become a fine stretch of wall with four great pieces, one of which, the rocket man by SPZero76, I have already posted.

Taking a closer look at this piece, you can see the fine detail and the extra sharp lettering making up the name Deam. Other details really cap this piece off, such as the yellow tinted glasses worn by the character (I’m not too sure who it is meant to be) and the shadows cast by the little rocks in the foreground. A really great piece.

1023. M32 Spot (9)

On one of the duller walls in Stapleton Road at the M32 skate spot, a whole bunch of new pieces have appeared, of which this is one, which have really  brightened up the place. This ‘love bomb’ is by SPZero76 and features the dog, so often included in his works.

SPZero76’s works are always clean and tidy, often with quite a lot going on and plenty of detail to look at. He often includes his ‘stamps’ too, such as the little spray splat with ‘I love Bristol’ or the little SP with a heart. There is never any doubt about who his works are by.

In my limited conversations with SPZero76, I think the one overwhelming thing I take away is his extreme enthusiasm and love for what he does – it comes across in all of his work. I was pleased to find this, because I hadn’t really twigged it was there and it is always nice to make discoveries.

915. M32 Spot (8)

I am fully aware that today is the second day of Upfest, and that you might be expecting a post from the wonderful Bristol street art festival. I’m afraid It’s not going to happen for a while. I will have an enormous amount of work to do with photographs and getting to grips with artists  before I can start to publish. If you want instant gratification, then follow #upfest2017 in instagram, it’ll be smoking!

For now I will post this characterful piece on one of the pillars under the M32 by Deamze. The faces on this work are quite unusual, and not something that I would ordinarily associate with Deamze.

There is a figure on each of the four sides of the pillar, each striking a different pose. I have only posted three of them, because the fourth is impossible to photograph due to the light conditions.

If you want to see the fourth side, you’ll just have to get down to the M32 Spot and check it out. I rather like this piece, and love the jeans and pink shirt, and the burger looks almost good enough to eat.

869. M32 Spot (7)

Another fine contorted ‘Icarus-like’ figure plummets to the ground in this wonderful column piece by Object000. My first thought when I saw this was ‘De Chirico’ the great Italian artist whose work influenced the surrealists. It is the arches that did it. Just google his name and images, and you’ll see what I mean.

I managed to catch up with Object000 when he was spraying this piece, and it turns out that his name is actually not Object zero zero zero, but actually Object ellipsis. So from this point forward I will write his name as Object… . For him the zeros appeared as a result of a digital artifact created because one of the digital platforms he uses wouldn’t accept the ellipsis.

I am not going to go through my back catalogue of posts and change anything as Thisd blog is evolutionary, and I have made many mistakes and learned much on the way. The past is the past. Unlike some in society, I do not wish to rewrite history, however inconvenient.

Too much of a ramble. This is a lovely fresh work by Object… and makes reference to the skate park with two skating figures, which unfortunately are on the other side of the column and only one is pictured here.

Another column piece at the M32 Spot, but this one is rather easier to photograph (marginally) because it is on two faces only. The artist is, of course, the fabulous Decay.

To those that know his work, probably the most striking thing about this piece is that he has introduced some additional colours into his palette, notably yellow, orange and blue. The centre and bottom half are in the colour scheme that I am more accustomed to. To cap it all off, he has wonderful drips. Great work.
