There is something perfect about this picture, and it is one I like very much. It was taken on our first day of exploring Porto while we were just finding our bearings. I don’t know who the artist is, but his charming monster character reminds me a lot of Mote’s work in Bristol.
The framing of the piece is what makes it so appealing, and while it isn’t exactly the best piece of street art you’ll ever see, it is highly memorable and simply good fun.
It is interesting to see how some artists find a spot and then work it really hard. Perhaps they enjoy the textures and surfaces or maybe it is being out of the public gaze, whatever the reason it happens quite a lot and 3F Fino seems to have been enjoying himself quite a bit in Leonard Lane recently. This is good news, because the turnover in this dark alley tends to be quite slow. Lots of new stuff to admire there at the moment.
3F Fino has been having a bit of fun with painting characters coming out of windows. I love this kind of contextual work that uses the surroundings and incorporates them into the painting. The piece itself is bright and creative and has the rounded edges that Are a common feature of his character work. Great fun piece.
Well you have seen a couple of these now in recent posts, so you should be able to tell me the artist’s name. It is of course yet another sensational wheatpaste by French artist Tian who visited Bristol in early May, I think. Once again I am left uncertain who is featured in this stencil paste up, but the detail on the tattoo is incredible.
I absolutely love this one, not only for its technical brilliance, but also for the interesting pose and picture selected and more so the exact spot where the piece was pasted. A window that was already fairly heavily fly-posted and stickered is no dominated by this beautiful woman. One of my favourites of his great portfolio of work. Still many more to come.

This is one of the more unusual pieces I have posted in quite a while. I think it is just a crazy abstract expression, but I can’t be certain. The artist Jee See has featured in this blog several times with his ‘seismic’ pictures and girl in a military hat (freestyled not stencilled as I had implied in an earlier post). This piece is unlike anything I have seen before.
I really can’t quite make out what it is or represents – maybe it is a starship exploding, but what are those window frames on the left of the picture. What are the building shaped objects at the top of the piece, and are they even part of the whole work? The weird thing is that I actually rather like it, even though I can’t fathom out a story…or anything at all.
