3526. Temple Way (3)
In have held on to this piece in my archive for way too long, and spurred on by the surge of recent pieces by Acer One, I wanted to share this geometric piece that is quite different from his more recent stuff, but still carries that heavily designed feel to it.
The hoardings on Temple Way around a huge development will in time be removed, but at least the developers had the foresight to commission some pieces which have not only brightened up this very dull bit of road, but have also gone a long way to keeping taggers at bay. This design is not only beautiful but has been meticulously painted by Acer One. I am becoming a very big fan.
3525. River Avon (14)
There so many things that I love about street art and graffiti writing. Firstly there is the beauty of the art itself and an admiration of the technical skills needed to create it in the first place; then there is the hunt… finding a piece and photographing it and if you get extra lucky having a chat with the artist whilst they are working; post-production includes archiving the pieces and finally sharing them here on Natural Adventures and on my Instagram feed. It keeps me busy. There is also resolution, which happens when you archive a piece, waiting for the day when you know a little bit more about it and can post it. This day is now and the piece is by Pura Decadencia.
I think that this was the first piece I saw by Pura Decadencia, but it is the third that I have posted. A girl dressed as Satan set on a purple and orange flame. I saw a sketch of this piece in her Instagram feed and the devil had a tail, which I think would have capped this piece off nicely. I wonder if she forgot to add it. Fabulous work nonetheless.

This film still makes it into my top ten, along with A Room with a View, also coincidentally starring DD-L. Don’t ask me what my other top ten films are… I haven’t decided yet.
3624. St Werburghs tunnel (226)
This is the first of two outstanding recent collaborations by Andy Council and Acer One. What a great combination these two make… their very different styles have come together in this piece in an extraordinary way and it feels as if they were made for each other.
On the left is a superb ammonite or nautilus by Andy Council, with the coiled shell appearing to be stitched together with thick thread. The body and tentacles in rich and vibrant blues extend across the piece and weave their way into the lettering from Acer One. It is incredible how Andy Council can draw together inorganic components and create organic creatures. He is a master of this.
The right hand side of this collaboration is yet another stunning piece of designed writing from Acer One, who is definitely going through a golden period in my eyes. Here he spells out ‘Acer’ with his geometric lettering. There is an optical think going on here where the patterns can be seen either as flat designs or as 3D images. Very clever stuff.
An outstanding collaboration from these two and a little warm up for another one at Templemeads Station.
3623. Purdown HAA Battery (2)
It feels rather peculiar to be saying that I haven’t posted or even seen anything by Nevergiveup (AKA Followmyrabbits) for ages, because throughout 2018-2020 he was probably the most prolific street artist in Bristol. I was so pleased to find this rabbit up at Purdown, and from the look of it it seems to be quite recent, although I might be mistaken.
There is another give away that this is a more recent piece and that is it is signed Eldey, which is something the artist has only been doing for the last few months or so. How well his fills have developed over the years and his rabbits have become more and more individual. I really must do a gallery soon to show his progress over the years. Great to see this bunny.

3522. M32 roundabout J3 (285)
Well it looks very much to me like Nightwayss has joined the PWA crew, which is very exciting indeed if it is in fact the case. Here he is sandwiched between Soap and Face 1st, adopting the shared colour scheme in a fine collaboration on the :32 Roundabout.
On the left of the trio is a piece from Soap using the green and pink base colours shared by all three artists. Spelling out his name, Soap has incorporated some gems into the letters, something he recently did in another piece at the M32 Spot. I like it when artists pick up a new theme and run with it for a while.
Another recurring theme that we see from Nightwayss is a good old cassette player/radio adorned with a couple of monkeys. Great to see the PWA label.
To the right is the third element of the collaboration and the ever-cheerful work from Face 1st. This giggling girl looks to have a fairly gloopy toxic head of hair, which is actually beautifully filled by Face 1st. It is impossible not to like these pieces and the wonderful crew that is Pirate Wall Art.
3521. Purdown HAA Battery (21)
I have had to spread out the posts of Zace’s work up at Purdown, because there are so many pieces and I like to give readers a varied diet of graffiti and street art. I suppose I could bundle up a few Zace pieces in one post, and that might be something I do, but my general positioning on Natural Adventures is to concentrate on one piece at a time.
This particular piece combines two regular themes that Zace likes to paint, firstly an alien face and secondly an exposed brain – perhaps he was scarred by ‘the Silence of the Lambs’ at some point. In this piece the alien is eating his noodle brains… nice. More from this prolific artist to come soon.

Doors 140. A further look back at some archive street/graffiti art doors
Another extraordinarily busy week has left me with no time to photograph or organise any doors. So I am ripping off some doors previously posted on Natural Adventures for you to enjoy. These doors previously appeared in June and July last year although some were photographed before that.
So that’s all the time I can spare for Thursday Doors this week, my apologies.
