7310. Cumberland Basin

This is what a birthday celebration piece to self looks like… by Dibz for Dibz. The calibre of artists that turned out for this paint jam was pretty high, as you might expect, and the quality of the birthday boy’s piece reflects the quality of the others.

It is easy to get quite blazé about Dibz’ outstanding wildstyle graffiti pieces, because each one is utterly on-point, and it is what we expect, but this perfection betrays the talent, experience and hard work that Dibz puts in to achieve these incredible results. Alongside the outstanding writing, Dibz has added a little gravestone and cloud-covered moon to pick up on the Halloween theme running through the pieces in this paint jam. All so good.

7306. Cumberland Basin

The Art of Sok, Cumberland Basin, Bristol, October 2025

Last year I managed to catch up with The Art of Sok several times, and it seems that the artist crossed the border several times to paint in Bristol. This year his visits have been less frequent, but he has definitely left his mark, not least with this stunner for Dibz’ birthday.

I wasn’t expecting too many Halloween pieces this year, but as it turned out, there were quite a few. (Note to self – do a Halloween gallery). The Art of Sok has created the perfect pumpkin character painted in his outstanding cartoon style. Everything is superbly balanced and the fills and borders immaculate. This is cartoon character street art at its very best. Bravo!

7305. St Werburghs tunnel (543)

3Dom, St Werburghs, Bristol, November 2025

This is yet another classy piece from the Minto birthday paint jam in St Werburghs tunnel, and I am not even half way through posting these yet. The artist this time is 3Dom with some signature graffiti writing. The photographs are rather poor and the colour quality rather different from the two angles. I think I have a setting wrong on my phone. Maybe it is time for an upgrade…

The letters spell out his name, but what makes this so recognisable as a piece by him is the way the letters are filled with ‘organic’ shapes and patterns and the rows of spots and dots. 3Dom is equally talented at graffiti writing and his extraordinary surreal character pieces, an all round superstar really.

7303. St Werburghs tunnel (542)

Lokey, St Werburghs, Bristol, November 2025

What a gorgeous, gorgeous piece of anamorphic graffiti writing from Lokey in the tunnel. It is of course another birthday tribute to Minto, and an absolute stunner at that. This particular paint jam certainly brought out the best in several artists.

Lokey doesn’t paint all that often which is rather a pity, because there is something aesthetically pleasing about his letter shapes, and his technique of crafting depth through light and shade. It is all very clever stuff and he is a master of his craft. A lovely piece.

It is obvious that two paint jams have been giving me plenty of material to write about; Dibz’ and Minto’s birthdays, I think both turned 50 this autumn. This Halloween Count Dracula piece by Jody was to celebrate Dibz half- century.

As portrait pieces by Jody go, this one isn’t, in my view, his best, not because of the obvious quality, but because it somehow doesn’t quite sit right with me. It happens from time to time and I can’t explain it. Perhaps it is the cape, which could do with more texture and folds, or maybe the red lips… of course, I am being unbelievably picky, it is a great portrait piece by a superb artist.

Biers, St Werburghs, Bristol, November 2025

For reasons that are too complicated to explain here, I don’t have my glasses with me this morning, which is making writing this post super-difficult and I am squinting, with a face like a bulldog chewing a wasp, while typing these words. Forgive any typos.

This is a superb combination piece by Biers painted to celebrate Minto’s birthday in the tunnel.

The turnout for this paint jam was exceptional, covering most of the length of both walls of the tunnel with new celebratory pieces. The letters, WD40, are superbly filled with a cartoony design of lines and bubbles, and bordered with a fine black line. I feel like I should know who the character is, but I don’t. The whole thing is set on a brick wall, a common device used by graffiti artists. A really lovely piece by Biers, who might have just got his mojo back.

Slim Pickings (Tes), St Werburghs, Bristol, November 2025

A super-quick post this morning. I am visiting my mother, and have been catching up leaving little time to write today’s posts. This is a lovely piece from Slim Pickings (Tes) in the tunnel for Minto’s birthday paint jam.

Over the last year or two, Slim Pickings has been switching up his style, and breaking away from his familiar rounded letter style. This is a wonderful example of his variation, although, the cloudy background is more consistent with his typical style. So good to watch him evolve.

Soker, Cumberland Basin, Bristol, October 2025

As you might expect, there was a great turnout from the great and good of the established graffiti writing/street community for Dibz’ 50th birthday celebration paint jam, including an appearance from the brilliant Soker.

It took me a while to establish that this wonderful piece was indeed by Soker, as it is unsigned, and the letters, of course, spell Dibz. There are one or two small giveaways that it is Soker’s work; The high-quality finish, The black star in the ‘D’; the small accent rectangles at the top left and top right; and the green drips around the piece. I was thrown off the scent slightly by the white accent lines that create a sense of round letters, because that is not something I associate too much with Soker. Classy work.

Andy Council, Cumberland Basin, Bristol, October 2025

I haven’t seen too many pieces by Andy Council this year, so this birthday piece for Dibz, which doubled up as a Halloween piece, was very welcome indeed. Andy Council painted this alongside the fine geometric piece by Acer One that I posted yesterday.

Andy Council’s style is to create his (usually) beasts by ‘stitching’ together component parts to make a coherent whole. Here he has created an awesome raven with some lovely colour touches in the red eye and iridescent greens on the feathers. A lovely piece to add to his menagerie.

Acer One, Cumberland Basin, Bristol, October 2025

I haven’t seen too much of Acer One this year, I guess he is probably busy with his commercial work, so it was so great to see this gorgeous geometric piece alongside Andy Council for Dibz’ 50th birthday celebration paint jam.

The sophisticated stellar piece features the sun, moon and a star all interwoven with great precision. The background is a wonderful cosmic scene, most fitting for this piece. I feel I haven’t had my quota of Acer One’s work this year, so will be keeping my eyes peeled for more.
