This is the middle piece of a Zinso-fest from earlier in the month underneath Brunel Way. The white buffed wall was the perfect opportunity for Zinso to practice his writing, and practice he did, turning out six pieces, three large and three small.

The bubble writing in the larger piece is beautifully decorated, each letter having its own colour scheme and one or two with spots as well. The ‘O’ at the end has a cheeky face for good measure. Similarly, the smaller signature piece in red also has a cheeky face, but appears to have a letter (S) missing. The full wall is shown below.

I will have mentioned that Zinso has been rather busy of late, and also that he appears to be relatively new to Bristol. How wrong am I? I was looking through archives and noticed that I have posted pieces by the artist way back in 2019 and 2020, but those were character pieces and not writing. I can’t believe that in the intervening years I haven’t noticed his work, so have to assume that he has found a new burst of energy and time recently

This is a rather neat piece of bubble writing with a really deep 3D drop shadow, lifting the piece nicely off the wall. The piece is really nicely finished and greatly superior to most bubble writing that I see, that is usually associated with quick throw ups. Loads more to come soon, and below are a couple of his pieces from a few years ago.

Zinso has made a big impression in Bristol in recent months having burst onto the scene earlier this year. He took over this entire wall, buffed it out with white paint and then painted six pieces, in pairs, each with a small and a large piece. I guess it is one way of getting in some practice. I have split the total production into three posts of which this is the first.

Both the small and large piece are in a bubble-writing style, although the larger one is rather more sophisticated. The small piece has alternate colours for the letters, has a tidy drop shadow and neat red border. Great work. As for the larger piece, the fills are absolutely magnificent. Big, bold colours and some really nice shapes resembling calligraphy, create an outstanding overall impression. This is the work of a skilled, technical artist having a great day out. The full wall is shown below:

I am enjoying the discovery of Zinso pieces, and this was the second of three that I have come across recently. There is something rather attractive about the letters and the way they are worked, along with two wonderful blue arrows book ending the writing.

The colourful cartoony letters are filled with nicely blended greens, browns and blues with the exception of the ‘i’ which is a bright contrasting orange. The letters are set on a ping background and finished off with a sprinkling of lovely drips. Although Zinso is new to Bristol, the artist is clearly experienced and accomplished.

I love finding pieces by artists that I haven’t registered before, and this piece from Zinso is one of a few that I have photographed recently.  Although Zinso is new to Bristol, I would suggest that they are not new to painting walls, as this is a tidy and accomplished piece of graffiti writing

The slightly cartoonish letters are bordered with a confident black outline and filled with a vibrant green with orange marginal decorations. A couple of pink symbols thrown in rounds off this tight, unfussy piece of writing set on a splash of blue. Bravo.

I haven’t seen a great many pieces by Zinso just yet, and those that I have seen have been quite small like this one, but I very much like his fresh clean approach and his cartoon style. This piece is so clean that it looks like an enormous sticker (or slap as the jargon goes).

I wonder if, like Zake, Zinso will focus on vertical portrait pieces like this column or whether we will see a larger landscape piece in time. Looking forward to seeing how things progress.

2565. M32 Spot (52)

This should be fairly quick and simple. Here we have a rather fun column piece by an artist called Zinso. Although I have a few pictures of his work from recent walks, he is a new artist to me and I have not been aware of him before the last couple of months or so.

Zinso seems to have a clear idea of his artwork and executes it cleanly to a rehearsed design (I am guessing), almost like a very fancy tag. Practising the same broad design builds up skills and technique. Zinso already seems well on the way to creating an identity. Look out for more from this artist.
