I think that this might be the third piece of graffiti writing by Avem808 that I have posted on Natural Adventures, and I am really liking what I see from the artist. There is an intricacy blended with fluidity about this piece that plays with the eyes.

I am not entirely sure what the letters spell. I’d like to believe it says AVEM, but I think that there is more to it than that. It is a wonderful tribute piece to a departed friend, Frank, and painted with heart and soul. The colours fit into that ‘fruit salad’ palette (a popular sweet of my childhood, and partner to Black Jacks) and make for an upbeat and joyful piece. There is lots of detail, and it is one of those pieces that deserves a long viewing time.

Asre, River Avon, Bristol, November 2025
Asre, River Avon, Bristol, November 2025

Since his return to painting in Bristol, Asre has focused on his writing, but it is his cheeky character pieces that first caught the eye a few years ago, and this is a fine example of one of those. I am a little sad that he chose to paint over a long-standing Haka piece, but that is the nature of street/graffiti art, constant churn and renewal.

The character is nicely framed and fits the space perfectly. Asre’s stylised cartoon characters are easily distinguishable thanks to the crosses in the eyes and the zigzag line in the mouth delineating the teeth. I am guessing that this was painted as a bit of an ‘extra’ while painting some writing nearby. Nice one.

Mr Riks, River Avon, Bristol, November 2025
Mr Riks, River Avon, Bristol, November 2025

It is curious how I associate different artists with specific settings or spots. I say this, because I really didn’t expect to see a Mr Riks piece down here alongside the River Avon. This spot tends to be quite experimental, and a lot of emerging artists use it to practice their letters, forms and techniques. To find an established artist like Mr Riks painting here is, to my mind at least, quite unusual.

The letter form that Mr Riks writes with is so distinctive; smooth rounded edges, letters compressed without any see through gaps and a superb solid border are all things I would expect to see. This is a fabulous chrome piece with nice shout-outs to his mates, Ryder and Kush.

Zinso, River Avon, Bristol, November 2025
Zinso, River Avon, Bristol, November 2025

Since he made his return, Zinso has been smashing it, and alongside Asre, who he appears to have teamed up with, is making a sizeable impression. This is one of several pieces by the pair alongside the River Avon in St Philip’s Marsh.

The letters and smiley face combination piece is vibrant and uplifting, full of movement and joy. Zinso’s letters are nicely designed, I like the upside-down ‘i’, and filled with a mixture of blue squiggles and spots. The cartoon-style animated smiley in a contrasting yellow stands out, but is linked through being the ‘o’ of Zinso. The piece is so neat and tidy and beautifully presented.

Trafficity, River Avon, Bristol, November 2025
Trafficity, River Avon, Bristol, November 2025

Trafficity is one of those artists who likes to recreate the same letter form and design, with the only changes from piece to piece being the colour arrangements and occasionally some of the finishing touches. There is something comforting about this, you know what you are going to get, and it is always great quality and consistency.

This one, on the path between Sparke Evans Park and Temple Meads station, is really nicely presented, crisp and clean. The letters spell ZIOM, although I do find it hard to fathom out from time to time. The colours, yellow, green and brown are not my favourite combination, but one that the artist seems to favour. All round, a nice piece with some fun blue drip accessories to finish.

Daz Cat, River Avon, Bristol, September 2025
Daz Cat, River Avon, Bristol, September 2025

Daz Cat is a brilliant character artist, and continues to develop his style, which is becoming increasingly sophisticated and detailed, as you can see if you scroll back in this updated gallery of his work. This piece is painted on a bridge column alongside the River Avon (it is mid-low tide when this picture was taken)

In this clever piece, a cat person is holding/cuddling a pet cat – where does that leave us? There is a load of personality and in both characters, and the pet cat doesn’t look overjoyed with the way it is being held. Some great colours in the piece too.

I managed to catch up with Daz Cat a week or so ago in St Werburghs tunnel where he was painting a superb piece for Kool Hand’s birthday celebration paint jam – Unfortunately, when I returned four days later, his piece had been painted over by Sled One and Oust, which is a real pity.

Creamylines, River Avon, Bristol, September 2025

I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of Creamylines’ bright and optimistic pieces, and I am forever grateful that he seems to be upping the frequency with which he is painting. These things add up to an overwhelming sense of wellbeing and a distraction from the rather depressing world around us.

This is another column piece from Creamylines albeit in a part of town that I haven’t seen him venture to before. This one is a little tidier than some of his pieces, and incorporates a myriad of colours. Eyes, faces, hills, birds, mountains and a gorgeous sun are all incorporated in this landscape as I have come to expect. Fabulous fun, and more to come from Creamylines.

This door, at the back of a light industrial estate alongside the River Avon, has to be one of the most decorated in Bristol, although most of the time the quality of work is fairly poor. This superb cat by Daz Cat is an exception, and just shows what a good piece of artwork can do to a scruffy door.

Daz Cat has filled the space expertly with a blue faced cat wearing a white-collared orange top. Although the piece looks like it might have been painted quickly, the detail in the face of the cat is neat and tidy. There is lots of depth and contours on this three-quarter profile portrait… great work.

Jevoissoul (slow), River Avon, Bristol, September 2025
Jevoissoul (slow), River Avon, Bristol, September 2025

I haven’t posted much from Jevoissoul for a while, but this piece alongside the River Avon was perhaps just too good to miss. This book ended combination piece is really neat and tidy and speaks to the artist’s progress over the last year or two.

Jevoissoul (slow), River Avon, Bristol, September 2025

The letters SLOW are beautifully painted in strong solid colours, without decorative fills, but sometimes less can be more, and it definitely works here. Great colour combinations too. The characters are unmistakably by Jevoissoul, and he has really made these in his very own stylised cartoon design, with their distinctive comic mouths. It is a pity that he ran out of brown for the background. All in all, a great piece.

Asre, River Avon, Bristol, September 2025
Asre, River Avon, Bristol, September 2025

Since returning to painting on the streets of Bristol, it appears that Asre has been preferring his graffiti writing to his cheeky character pieces. I don’t know the reasons for this change, but he is smashing it with his letters.

Asre, River Avon, Bristol, September 2025

This is a beautifully presented piece, where all the lines and decorations, inside and outside the letters, are clean and crisp. The three autumnal colour of the fill are beautifully distributed and brought to life with reversed out stars and spots. A thick border contains the letters well and on the outside, purple splats give the piece dominance over the surrounding graffiti without the need for buffing the wall. Lovely writing.
