The biggest news of the last two weeks has been the US election and a deep sigh of relief around the world as the Trump experiment seems to have run out of steam. It is incalculable how much damage that man has done to his own country let alone the rest of the world, all in the name of capitalism, selfishness, power, greed, hate, mistrust, vanity. The biggest things missing from his persona are any sense of dignity, empathy or compassion. How did his rise to become POTUS ever happen? What has happened to our world?
Trump has been a rich source of inspiration and material for street artists over the last four years, and this glorious piece from Sled One may be one of the last Trump pieces we get to see. Entitled ‘Dump Trump’ it shows the President in a less than flattering light with a poo coiled on his head.

We live in strange and sometimes farcical times. This rather nice stencil from John D’oh at St George skate park satirises one of the more surreal moments of Trump’s utterly catastrophic presidency. How do Johnson and Trump keep their jobs in the light of such gross incompetence and stupidity? It is a mystery. If I behaved in the way they do, I would have been fired a long time ago.
So Americans, injecting disinfectant might be worth a try, you know it makes sense huh? And now we see Jair Bolsenaro, another populist leader, equally driven by self-interest and fame entering the competition to see who can manage the coronavirus epidemic the worst. These leaders love being at the top of international league tables that it matters not what the rankings are about. How did it come to this? Thank you John D’oh for reminding us with your running narrative about the desperate state of world leadership.
2450. Stokes Croft
This piece by Haka in Stokes Croft is of course a commentary on Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dee, a pair of demagogues currently in charge of two great democracies doing their best to appease the far right voter and in doing so sustain their power.
I’m not sure what cartoon/game character this piece is based on although I have seen it somewhere, but the Trump figure is in the belt of the Boris character and the two are inextricably joined by both philosophical and physical characteristics. Hats off to Haka for this delightful piece lampooning these two buffoons.

I have no idea who this little piece was by, but when I passed it, it was attracting rather large crowds – unusual for such a tiny piece, but maybe it was the humour and subject matter that made it appealing.
I have seen an awful lot of Trump street art, and not a single one, a single one (…as Trump would say, because he loves to repeat his sage-like words softly) is in any complimentary. I think this little piece speaks for most of us. Interestingly a short time later it had gone – a street art hunter’s trophy.
1720. Leonard Lane (18)
I wander up and down Leonard Lane reasonably frequently. How is it then that I have only very recently spotted this Trump piece by Will Coles? By the look of it, it has been here for some while and even been sprayed over.
This is the same as the installation he positioned in The Bearpit back in April this year. That one only lasted a few days before being torn down. This one, although dogged has fared a little better. If nothing else, this piece has reminded me to keep looking and to keep looking up.
