7362. BB Gallery (8)

Creamylines, BB Gallery, Bristol, December 2025

It somehow feels right to be celebrating Christmas Eve with this uplifting piece from Creamylines. The artist has had a great year and finding this piece on a rare visit to the Bristol to Bath cycle path gallery felt right and proper.

The piece is larger and wider than most of his other pieces, but contains all the usual themes, ideas and style. The introduction of a character to the top right of the piece could indicate an additional direction for Creamylines, although his work is so unique, I don’t think it needs to change for the sake of it.

Bags and Biers, M32 roundabout, Bristol, November 2025

During the second half of 2025, there has been a definite uptick in the number of pieces painted by Bags and Biers, the latter of which appears to have rediscovered his mojo after a fallow period. These two have paired up numerous times in the past, and combine their styles nicely in this piece by adopting a shared colour scheme.

The No Frills pair have gone for chrome writing on a dark blue background, with Bags adding a bit more curvature to his letters than normal. He has included some nice apostrophe drops.

Biers, M32 roundabout, Bristol, November 2025

Biers has written his heavily disguised WD40 letters and added several red inverted crosses for decoration. He too has included some tear-drop apostrophes, something that is quite a theme for the No Frills crew. All good stuff and a nice way to round off the year.

Jenks, St Werburghs, Bristol, November 2025

Arguably, the most eye-catching piece from the Minto birthday paint jam was this extraordinary portrait by Jenks. The session coincided with Halloween, and this menacing horror piece certainly dined out on the spooky festival.

The technique used to generate the reflections in the mask is of the highest quality, incorporating loads of colour tones to create the effect. Furthermore, the distortions in the screaming girl figure and the scene around her create the illusion of a world we can’t see from this side of the mask.

It takes a great deal of skill and experience to produce a piece like this one, but the effort is worth it because of the impression it leaves behind. This is a wonderful piece from the visiting artist Jenks.

7359. Frome Side (64)

Solar, Frome Side, Bristol, December 2025

My last trip under the M32 alongside the canalised River Frome was a rather fruitful one, and this piece from Solar was one of the rewards for the marginally treacherous scramble down. Solar is an artist whose work has shown steady progression over the years, and he is turning out some superb writing that touches on anti-style.

Although it is difficult to provide a scale to this piece, I can tell you that it is very large. The height of it is about 7-8ft, so if you imagine the artist spraying the top at full stretch, you can get a sense of it. The irregular letters spell SOLAR and are painted on a grey background, which mimics the natural colour of the concrete. There is a fabulous two-tone orange fill, with the lighter colour running through the middle of the letters creating some depth. The piece is rounded off with a clean white border and some light blue spots for decoration. A classy piece from Solar.

7358. M32 Spot (211)

Alongside some of the ramps of the DIY skate park under the M32 are some low hoardings which play host to an array of graffiti, and every once in a while to something quite classy.

This is a piece by Werm, one of the most regular and prolific graffiti writers in Bristol. The letters have been reduced in height from his normal proportions, and are nicely designed to fit into this low space. |There is a winning colour combination of red and lime green going on here, with some nice darker green lines, adding perspective and seven starbursts to finish. Nice work from Werm.

7357. M32 Cycle path (300)

Scrapy, M32 Cycle path, Bristol, December 2025

I wouldn’t want you to think that I had forgotten all about Scrapy. It feels like a while since I last posted any of his work. This is a quick one by the artist in the pathway behind the Black Swan pub.

I like the way that Scrapy has worked the piece into the space available on the wall, between the flat and lumpy texture. I have quite a lot of unpublished Scrapy pieces, and might have to do a bit of a mini-gallery to catch up.

7356. Peel Street Green (56)

After a couple of very busy days in London, and returning to Bristol late last night, we had a lie in thin morning, the likes of which we haven’t had for many years. What that means of course is that I have to write today’s posts in record time because we have a ton of pre-Christmas jobs to do today.

Seed, Peel Street Green, Bristol, December 2025

Seed is working really hard to make his mark on the graffiti writing scene. He has hooked up with Asre and Zinso, who will be able to guide him and teach him a few tricks along the way. I have met him only once, but his ambition and desire to improve were clear. This is a rather nice piece with large overlapping letters in a combination of greens. The lower part, I think has incorporated the artwork of the previous occupant of the spot, which fortunately is in complementary greens. Keep your eyes peeled for more from Seed.

7355. Cumberland Basin

Mage, Cumberland Basin, Bristol, November 2025

More from Mage, this time his writing has a slightly softer feel to it. I have said before that the letters MAGE, in my view are a little unforgiving, although lots of straight lines and sharp edges. By incorporating a lower case ‘a’ and ‘e’ Mage has managed to smooth out some of the lines.

The two tone pink letters are bordered with a brown drop shadow, and you will know my feelings about brown by now, so possibly another colour would have been my preference. Mage has been a busy boy this autumn.

Posh, St Werburghs, Bristol, November 2025

Another amazing piece of detailed sketchy writing from Posh, this time as part of the Minto Birthday paint jam. Once again, I can see letter shapes here, but really struggle to be able to read them. I could assume that they might say Posh, but Who knows?

There are some nice earthy colours in this piece, but it is the sketchy scribbles and details that mark this out as a Posh piece. Nice script shout-outs to Minto and Ticks. I expect to see more of these in the new year.

I managed to sneak another trip underneath the M32 recently and picked up a couple more pictures of work by Sketch, which I might have missed last time. I haven’t seen his work anywhere else in Bristol. We really need to get this boy out and about so that more people can admire his modernist work.

The bright and vibrant piece owes a lot to the inspiring surrealist and cubist movements, with features being spread around the face in an abstract fashion. I love these creative pieces that combine spray-painting with art movements in a brave and exciting way. More please.
